BBC Three is to be dropped from TV

BBC Three is to be dropped from TV schedules and will move online, as part of the BBC's cost-cutting plans.

It means shows such as Don't Tell The Bride and Pramface will only be available through the iPlayer, rather than Freeview, satellite or cable.

However perhaps it would be better to scrap it entirely and improve BBC 1 & BBC 2? Online is probably not useful to more than 1/2 of population and scales very badly. Can the BBC iPlayer cope with 10 Million connections?
